GEOlab and HOC-lab are organizing a humanitarian mapathon at the Bovisa Campus of Politecnico di Milano on March 3, 2016. The event will introduce 200 children from several elementary schools to the humanitarian mapping with OpenStreetMap. The event is organized in collaboration with the Humanitarian OpenStreetMap Team (HOT), a not-for-profit organization engaged in humanitarian response activities, and the Missing Maps project, which coordinates mapping in the most vulnerable places in developing world.
The event will take place from 9:30 am to 1:00 pm in Building 10, rooms CS0.8 and CS1.7.
This mapathon will constitute a world record for humanitarian mapathons! If you are familiar with OSM and want to join the event by helping the children getting started in mapping, please contact us.
