Copernicus Uptake

Copernicus Uptake is a PhD course providing an overview of the Copernicus program with a focus on the core services supported by the European Commission and European Agencies. 

Introduction to Copernicus : This is the link to the  video of the first lesson of the course.  Prof. De Bernardinis, who is in charge of the promotion, implementation and coordination of the network of the national members of the European Copernicus Academy,  gives an overview of the Copernicus Initiative.

Space Economy: an emerging business paradigm –  Prof. A. Ghezzi:
Space Economy constitutes an emerging business paradigm, enabled by the combination of space and digital technologies, where a plethora of traditional and new players converge in a revolutionized value network and generate cross-industry innovative value-added services. This lecture introduces the Space Economy paradigm from a strategic and entrepreneurial perspective, leveraging Politecnico di Milano School of Management’s Space Economy Observatory research to present noteworthy cases of Space Economy startups

Introduction to multispectral Earth Observation – Prof. M. Gianinetto
This is an interactive lecture, with small online activities, that introduces newcomers to multispectral remote sensing for Earth Observation.

The Digital Twin Earth. Accessing Copernicus Data and Services. DIASs and TEPs. GEE – Prof. M.A. Brovelli
The lecture consists in an introduction about the DestinationEarth and the Digital Twin Earth. This is followed by a panel where Marcin Gil (CREODIAS), Vincent Saleh (MUNDI), Franck Ranera (ONDA), Ludovic Augé (Sobloo) and Brice Mora (WEkEO) introduce the DIASs, a webinar of Hervé Caumont about TEPs and the Geohazard Exploitation Platform, an hands-on about how to analyse deforestation with Google Earth Engine (by Vasil Yordanov).
